As some may be aware, the bands have been silent for some time, but some of the Northwest lads have begun to converse on PMR channel 8 at 8 p.m. on Sunday nights.
This has gotten a lot of positive feedback, and many people have begun to go each Sunday and make them active again.
The only reason I can imagine them going to PMR instead of the armature bands is because some other operators have been on there but haven’t yet received their ham radio licence.
Using PMR may pique their attention, and they may seek out the licence if it appeals to them.
