Backing up or restoring the configuration of your Pi-Star

Backups of your Pi-Star hotspot configuration are simple and effective. To go to the Backup/Restore screen, follow these instructions.

Open your Pi-Star Dashboard.

Pi-Star is now open.
“Configuration” should be selected.
It’s possible that you’ll be asked to log into Pi-Star. If that’s the case, please log in.

Select “Backup/Restore” from the Configuration page.

This screen will appear once you click “Backup/Restore.

The procedure is straightforward.
To download (back up) a configuration, use the green down arrow to save it to your computer. To make it easier to find the file later, add the date or a version number to the file name.
Make a note of where you saved this file so you can find it later. The download will create a.zip file

Use the “Browse” window to identify the.zip file you want to load onto the hotspot if you want or need to restore a configuration file.

Then, to upload (restore) the file to your hotspot, click the green up arrow.
When experimenting with different hotspot configurations, this capability comes in handy. Before you begin experimenting, make a “functioning master” config.
